i am learning to rest in new rhythms:
to breathe in morning air, heavy with dew
where leaves unhurried
transform, without a care
set alight with
a golden, fiery glow
i am learning to rest in new rhythms:
to step softly into the strangeness of things
where awkward moments
transform, unbidden
into sacred bonds
too precious to hold
i am learning to rest in new rhythms:
to have light hands and quiet feet
where the never-ending juggling act
transforms, unfurls
into a leisurely canoe ride
moving ever so gently
toward a Light, a Presence
who bids me to listen more deeply
ponder more thoughtfully
trust more profoundly
feel more tangibly
live more abundantly
even when the world seems awry
and dreams lie dormant
i am learning to rest in new rhythms
and for that my heart is glad
